What can I expect to Catch??
Winter (Jan-Mar): Inshore; Redfish, flounder, whiting, weakfish, speckled trout Offshore; it's mostly catch and release due to season closures but we will catch seabass, red snapper, grouper, sm/med sharks, red bass and weakfish
Spring (Apr-Jun Tied for Best Season with Fall) Inshore; redfish, weakfish, speckled trout, pompano, black drum, whiting, jack craval, ladyfish, flounder (more/larger as water warms up beginning in April) Offshore; as water starts to warm up into the low/mid 70's - Cobia, tripletail, med/lg sharks, king mackeral, Spanish mackeral, little tunny, barracuda, amberjack, mahi, sailfish (I wouldn't count on this one but we catch a couple each season), vermillion snapper (opens Apr 1), grouper (opens May 1),
Summer (Jul-Sept The hot months) Inshore; Flounder, speckled trout, redfish, black drum, lady fish Offshore; Tarpon, king mackeral, little tunny, barracuda, cobia, amberjack, vermillion snapper, black seabass, grouper
Fall (Oct-Dec Tied with best Season with Spring) as water temps in the ocean and ICW start to drop a bit this season is very very good Inshore; speckled trout (50 fish days were common last year), redfish, weakfish, flounder (this the time of the finger mullet run and the best time to target flounder), jack cravel, lady fish Offshore; Tarpon, kingmackeral, little tunny, cobia, amberjack, med/lg sharks, barracuda, vermillion snapper, black seabass, grouper
Any species can be caught at any time of the year, depending on water temp at the time and the fact that there are no fences in the ocean.
