kids are kings (and queens) ICW (Intracoastal Waterway)
Report:
This was Trever's first trip out on a boat to catch fish and the order of the day was to catch him his first fish. We started in a creek that has been holding some nice drum and reds, baiting with dead shrimp fished on the bottom it was not long before the pinfish started and gave Trever a small one, as his father, Rich, and I were trying to hook a larger fish for him he was having a ball catching the small stuff. One of the bait rods started to bend with a good fish and Trever was onto his first keeper, a drum of about 3 pounds. Next came a flounder and more pinfish. With the small fish really fired up we decided to make a move and try and find some reds. Way back in another creek, we were anchored on an oyster bar and waiting for the low tide to start moving in when arround a corner came a small flatbottom boat and the guy's wanted to know how in the world I got the big Aquasport that far back in this creek? I said it was easy if you know where to go. We caught a couple of small reds and a small flounder there and left to find larger fish. Anchoring along an oyster bar on the rising tide we got into some nice reds and Trever and Rich both got to fight some slot (18" to 27") and larger fish. We ended with a limit of (3) reds in the box and released another 5 with two oversize ones (28.5 and 29 inches), one drum and one 15" flounder. Not bad for a first trip. Till next trip: Capt. Guy
