kids are kings (and queens) Near shore (inside of 20 miles)
Report:
I was lucky enough to get to take an old friend and his guest fishing this mourning with a good bite of kings going on. Mr. Bill Burk was one of my first customers when I got the MisStress in 1992 and still goes with me at least 3 times a year. He brought a guest, Mr. Bob Shoemaker on this trip and it was a good thing ,too. Without another person we would have been limited out in less than an hour. I also brought a mate, my 10 year old great nephew (Alex) for help, to get him some experience, and for the extra limit. The first pass on the Standish was a double of unknown species, pulled the hooks on both. The next pass was also a double with one being a shark and the other a 23# king. We followed that with two more doubles and then settled down to one at a time. Most of our fish were in the 10 to 12# range with the one over 20. We finished up on the beach with an 18#er, the first beach king of the year for me. We kept a limit of 8 kings releasing 5 more kings and 4 sharks. Good friends and a budding mate that is willing to learn are what makes life good for a captain. 'Till next trip, Capt. Guy
