We worked the bally's and spoons/strips againg today. I only had two customers today and so new it would be a mostly release day if they bit like they did yesterday. If possible they bit even better. We started just inshore of the shrimpboat and worked out from there. Just as soon as I got the planer down it came right back up with a king and then we were in for a dry spell as other boats caught fish arround us. The spoon was hit no less than 20 times without a hook up and I still don't know why. I got frustrated and switched to a strip bait and the success rate went to 90%. We didn't get the surface strikes today we had yesterday but we had more whole kings (and pieces). I couldn't get away from the kings as long as I had a planer and strip down, and it didn't matter what color the skirts were on the strip just as long as it was dark. We kept 6 whole ones (limit 2 per person) and released somewhere between 12 and 20, I lost count at 12 arround noon with an hour left to fish. We also had 4 cudas and 2 bonita. Another outstanding day on the pond. I've got no trips this weekend (go figure) and fish again on Monday. The fish are here and co-operating, let's go. 'Till then, Capt. Guy
