Report: Sorry for not keeping up on the trip log late last month. I missed a couple of trips but none that were spectacular. We've started catching some nice river fish again, that is a good thing. Mostly reds and nice flounder to 4 pounds. I did a pick-up in the Abaco's (Bahama's) this week and thought you mite like to see what leaving at sunrise looks like. We didn't get to fish, but on leaving we saw a ball of bait and 4 sails working them in 800 feet of water (almost on the reef) just offshore of Whale Cay. This is the area I normally fish in June and it is incredable. I slow down at 400 ft of water and before I can get the outriggers out I'm in 1000 ft and it really starts to drop from there. Most of the time we fish from 1500 to 6000 ft of water and never get out of site of land. The trip back to Ft. P was a dream trip with the seas never exceeding 2 ft. The trip up from Ft. P was also a dream (read nightmare) with the seas never getting below 4 ft (and a head sea at that) after we rounded the cape. Even in a 50 footer this is a butt kicker. We've got a NorEaster on us right now and it looks like it will be here 'till Wed or Thurs. The river fishing is good on low water change now so let's go. 'Till then, Capt. Guy
